We Let
You
Decide: How to Optimize Preference Lists
Preference Lists
are used to ensure that your most qualified substitutes have
access to available jobs first. They are lists that specify
which substitutes should, and in some cases should not, be
called to fill a particular employee’s absence.
The Four Basic Types of Preference Lists:
•
•
Personal Preference List: Typically
applied to a single employee, it’s a list of substitutes,
usually specified by the employee, that the employee has had
positive experiences with in the past.
•
Subject-Based Preference List: A
list of substitutes usually generated by a department head
or administrators, who are considered to be above average in
a particular subject area or position. For example: you may
create a preference list to be used for all Boys PE
teachers.
•
Site-Based Preference List: A
list of substitutes usually generated by the building
administrator, who are capable of filling in for any
employee within the building.
•
Exclusion Lists: These
lists can be created for a single employee or can be used in
a site wide capacity, meaning everyone at that site would
have this list attached to them. An exclusion list is used
for instances when an employee or site wish to no longer
have a particular sub or subs fill their absences for
whatever the reason may be.
For information on how to create and assign your Preference
Lists please visit the CRS
Customer
Support Center and review the Preference List Quick Tips
document under the 2007 Newsletter Supplements library.
Preference Lists
should be created at the site level by someone with
knowledge of the site or employee’s substitute preferences
so that jobs may be filled by those substitutes who do the
best job and/or are the most qualified.

How Can WebConnect Pro Benefit Your
District?
WebConnect
Pro
offers your employees, substitutes, and site administrators
the freedom to access SubFinder over the Internet. Users
have the ability to create absences, review jobs, and modify
the data that you give them access to modify. Additionally
WebConnect Pro provides capabilities to your site principals
and administrators that allow them to effective manage their
site specific SubFinder profiles.
Many of the functions that were once only available to the
central SubFinder operator are now provided to site
principals and administrators. By managing their own
employees and substitutes, absences and jobs, preference
lists, substitute job verification, and reports site
principals and administrators have the
freedom to go beyond the basics such as creating
absences and jobs and reviewing site specific absences and
job information.
If your district currently uses WebConnect,
WebConnect Pro
will not replace it. It simply increases the capabilities
provided to your site principals and administrators.
The Benefits of WebConnect Pro Include:
•
WebConnect Pro empowers your site level administrators to
manage their own site specific SubFinder data,
•
Editing Capabilities- employee
and substitute information; past, present, and future jobs;
preference lists; substitute job verification
•
Limit Editing Capabilities-
through the SubFinder Control Panel you can limit rights on
an individual user basis. All
access to SubFinder information is granted at a site or site
group level, so you can be sure that administrators only
access their own site’s data.
•
Reports-
all reports are available in Word or Adobe formats; and you
have the ability to email the reports as attachments
