Welcome to the October issue of
InTouch Online - Happy
Halloween!
Tonight we want you to all beware,
Ghosts and goblins will be
everywhere!
Whether it is trick or treating, or searching for some
fright,
We all wish you to have a SPOOKY,
but safe night!
Here is what you’ll find in this month’s edition!
No more searching for the same reports daily! With
SubCast, all of your sites can be informed with
up-to-date absence and job status information
AUTOMATICALLY, everyday! The automatic emailing of the
daily absence information ensures that your sites are
kept posted regarding absences, substitute placements,
and the status of all pending jobs.
SubCast is a well designed tool that communicates vital
information to each of your sites without involving
hours of labor for your office staff. Each site can
receive a report customized for their site only!
The SubCast software is already incorporated in your
SubFinder system. For more information or assistance
with SubCast, please contact your Account Specialist.

SubCast -
Cleaning Out Your Sent Items Folder
The e-mail messages sent out by SubCast are typically stored
in your e-mail client's Sent folder, whether you use
Outlook, Groupwise, or some other e-mail client. This folder
may have a limited amount of storage space. By regularly
deleting the sent messages from the applicable folder, you
can ensure that your daily SubCast reports will continue to
be sent by your SubFinder system.
How Do I Properly Delete Sent Items?
From Microsoft Outlook:
1.
Open the appropriate Outlook
mailbox
2.
Open the ‘Sent Items’ folder
3.
Highlight all the mail items you wish to
delete. For example, you may want to delete everything
except those from the past two weeks
4.
Click the ‘Delete’ button, or right-click on the
selected items and choose ‘Delete’ from the context menu
presented
Once you’ve moved the selected items to the Deleted
Items folder, you may want to clean it out as well. To
perform this task:
1.
Open the appropriate Outlook
mailbox
2.
On the ‘Tools’ menu, click
‘Empty “Deleted Items” Folder’
3.
Click ‘Yes’ on the warning message that will ask
you, “Are you sure you want to permanently delete
all the items and sub folders in the “Deleted Items”
folder?”
If you are using an e-mail client other than Microsoft
Outlook, a similar procedure should be available. Please
check with your IT staff to determine the proper
procedure.
CRS recommends keeping sent messages for two weeks for
diagnostic purposes; your internal IT policies may
require something different. Please check with your IT
department to verify their specific requirements.
Carroll County
SubFinder Operator
Over 55 SubFinder customers have made
the switch from SubFinder as a Box-on-Site solution to
SubFinder as an ASP solution.
What is an ASP solution?
ASP stands for Application Service Provider
which simply means that the SubFinder system is located
in a hosted and managed environment at the CRS Computer
Operations Center here at our main office in
Williamsport, Pennsylvania. All users can access your
district’s SubFinder ASP via the Internet or a toll-free
phone number.
With SubFinder as an ASP solution, your district can
have all the same great benefits of the SubFinder system
WITHOUT the hassle of hardware and phone lines!
Carroll County Public Schools in Westminster, MD
recently switched from SubFinder as a Box-on-Site
solution to the ASP solution. This is what their
SubFinder Operator, had to say:
“Hardware issues, I don’t miss at all. I no longer have
a beeper. No more coming in after hours to reboot the
system because of electrical issues or hardware
problems. No more having to bother our Technology
Services Department. It has been really nice.
We have not been down at all since we switched to the
ASP Solution. Another great difference is all the
security issues are handled by CRS. The ASP Solution
covers all of our security issues and then takes it a
step further. Carroll County Public Schools is very
satisfied with the ASP Solution.”
Is your district interested in SubFinder as an ASP
solution, or would you like to receive additional
information? If so, please contact Katy McCloskey at
800.782.3463 Ext. 6171.
Let us know about your Regional User Group session; or
better yet, let us know that your district is interested
in attending a Regional User Group in the future. Go to
our ‘Customer Comment’ link located in the Customer
Support Center and tell us about it! For those that have
attended, we hope you had a fun and, most importantly,
knowledgeable session. We look forward to hearing from
you!
Thank you to all the districts that
hosted the 2007 Regional User Group sessions!
