For over
20 great years CRS has lead the industry in responsive
development of product features, options, and reports to meet
the ever changing needs of our customers. Our software is based
on daily feedback, client surveys, focus groups, annual and
regional user group workshops, as well as customer
recommendations. We strive, every day, to be innovative and
responsive to rapid changes in our customers’ marketplace.
The company was
originally established in 1985 as Canopy Road Software,
Inc, and initially provided telephone reservation
software used by school systems to manage media supplies. In
1987, Canopy Road Software released Substitute Finder®,
which quickly became the company’s flagship product. Based on
the organization’s success, the management team which made
Brodart Company1 one of the country’s largest and
most-recognized leaders in library services, acquired Canopy
Road Software, creating a partnership which allowed the company to invest
in research and development. This partnership has led to early
use of object oriented code practices, the transition of
SubFinder to the 32-bit OS platforms, the use of the internet
and a series of new internet based products.
The future
holds many more advancements for the CRS family of products. With research, development,
advanced internet and technology expertise, national sales
offices, and a growing team of experts in staffing and education in place, CRS is making immediate strides in
superior technologies to make our customers’ needs less
expensive, easier to manage, farther reaching, and more
productive.
